Zenitco AK Handguard Length Guide

Choosing the correct handguard length is important when upgrading your AK rifle or carbine. Zenitco offers four different handguard lengths to accommodate various barrel lengths, shooting styles, and accessory configurations.

The comparison below demonstrates the difference between all four handguard lengths using the same AK rifle with a 415 mm (16.3") barrel. Depending on the selected length, several different handguard models or complete kits may be available.

Important: The rifle shown in the comparison features a 415 mm barrel. For shorter AK variants such as the AK-104, AK-105, and Saiga 033, only the Short and Long handguard options are compatible.

1. Short Handguards

Short handguards extend to the handguard retainer, matching the length of the factory handguard. They are the only models fully compatible with under-barrel grenade launchers.
