In short: the AFR Revers is a universal steel QD sling base that replaces the standard end plate on an AR-pattern receiver extension, clamped between the lower and the castle nut. It is the fixed-position answer where the DOLG QD wrap is the removable one - and it is what lets a QD sling such as the M3 One QD anchor at the rear of the receiver.

Overview

The Revers goes where the standard end plate goes: between the lower receiver, or an adapter that mimics its silhouette, and the castle nut of the receiver extension. Once it is torqued down you have a QD socket at the rear of the receiver that will take any standard QD swivel. It supports a three-point or single-point sling directly, and it is the anchor that lets a two-point sling with two QD swivels convert into single-point mode.

The material is the point of difference. Most bases in this position are light alloy, and a steel QD swivel working against alloy will eventually deform the socket. The Revers is made from structural steel, heat treated, with the surface additionally hardened by carbonitriding - so the socket keeps its shape under a steel swivel and holds a heavy build on the sling in the situations where that matters. It weighs about 23 g with an oxide finish. Choose the swivel carefully: a poor-quality QD swivel is the usual cause of a sling releasing when it should not.
