In short: the Sport-6 is a genuine Zenitco handguard kit that installs in place of the factory handguard on the Vepr-12 (VPO-205). It carries the Zenitco Basis rail on three sides - for B-2, B-2U and B-2L Picatinny brackets - plus a Picatinny section on the upper mount, so you can add optics, lights, grips and other accessories. Machined from D16T aluminum; the set weighs about 375 g and is 280 mm long.

The kit is supplied as several parts (the B-31/12 upper mount, the B-20L handguard, the DL-4 add-on rail, a hex key, two threaded inserts and the mounting screws) with an illustrated manual. Besides adding mounting real estate, the open Basis design improves airflow around the barrel between the receiver and the gas tube, which helps cooling. A rigid handguard also gives your optics and accessories a more stable, repeatable zero.

Compatibility & seat type (important): fits the Vepr-12 (VPO-205). It ships in two versions that differ only in the B-20L handguard seat: V1.0 = Type A (wider seat) and V1.1 = Type B (lower seat). Seats vary between carbines - compare your factory handguard seat with the photos and pick the matching type in the "Type" option above before ordering. Installation requires the factory gas tube and the factory Picatinny section under the gas tube. Note: the cleaning rod cannot be refitted in its factory position.
