Zenitco Sport-8U Kit - Extended Basis-Rail Handguard System for Saiga-308 (v.61)

In short: the Sport-8U is a genuine Zenitco extended handguard kit that installs in place of the factory handguard on the Saiga-308 (version 61). It is the longer version of the Sport-8 - 330 mm - and carries the Zenitco Basis rail on five sides, so you can mount Basis-compatible accessories (Picatinny rails, sling swivels, hand stops, grips, switches, covers and cable holders) directly onto the handguard. Machined from D16T aluminum; the set weighs about 388 g.

The kit is supplied as several parts (the B-23L handguard, the B-31U/RPK mount over the gas tube, the DL-5 add-on rail, two Styazhka-2 tie bars and the mounting screws) with a manual. Besides adding mounting real estate on every side, the open Basis design improves airflow around the barrel between the receiver and the gas tube, which helps cooling. A rigid, extended handguard also gives your optics and accessories a more stable, repeatable zero and more room to position them.

Compatibility: fits the Zenitco Saiga-308, version 61. Installs onto the factory handguard seat. Note: the cleaning rod cannot be refitted in its factory position.
