Zenitco Sport-5 Kit - Basis-Rail Handguard System for RPK-Pattern Carbines

In short: the Sport-5 is a genuine Zenitco handguard kit that installs in place of the factory handguard on RPK-pattern carbines that have a flag lock on the front band. It carries the Zenitco Basis rail on five sides, so you can mount Basis-compatible accessories - Picatinny rails, sling swivels, hand stops, grips, switches, covers and cable holders - directly onto the handguard. Machined from D16T aluminum; the set weighs about 300 g and is 250 mm long.

The kit is supplied as several parts (the B-31RPK receiver-cover mount, the B-20L handguard, the DL-3 add-on rail, two Styazhka-2 tie bars and the mounting screws) with an illustrated manual. Besides adding mounting real estate on every side, the open Basis design improves airflow around the barrel between the receiver and the gas tube, which helps cooling. A more rigid handguard also gives your optics and accessories a more stable, repeatable zero.

Compatibility & seat type (important): fits RPK-pattern carbines that have a flag lock on the front band. The kit ships in two versions that differ only in the B-20L handguard seat: V1.0 = Type A (wider seat) and V1.1 = Type B (lower seat). Seats vary between carbines - compare your factory handguard seat with the photos and pick the matching type in the "Type" option above before ordering. Note: the cleaning rod cannot be refitted in its factory position.
