The Sport-5U replaces the standard handguard and the cover over the gas-tube area with a rigid, ventilated rail platform. It provides Bazis guide rails on five sides, so you can attach Bazis-compatible equipment - Picatinny rail sections, sling swivels, hand stops, grips, pressure pads, cover panels and wire holders - directly to the handguard without adapters. The open design also improves airflow around the barrel between the receiver and the gas tube.
The complete kit is machined from D16T aluminum alloy with a protective coating. It weighs about 390 g (+/- 10 g), is about 330 mm long and is rated for a working temperature range of -50 to +50 C.
Choosing the version (Type A / Type B): the kit is made in two versions that differ only in the B-20L lower bracket, to match the seat of your standard handguard. V1.0 (Type A) is for the wider seat; V1.1 (Type B) is for the lower seat. All other brackets are identical between the two versions. Seats vary between platforms, so compare your standard handguard with the photos and pick the version in the Kit type selector that matches. Note: the standard cleaning-rod position is not usable once the kit is installed.
