Overview
The CROSS K31 is what happens when a Swiss straight-pull action from the 1930s is given the ergonomics of a modern bolt-action chassis. It is machined from a solid billet of high-strength aircraft-grade aluminum, and it is built around one idea: let the shooter set the platform up the way they would set up any current precision carbine.
An ARCA-RAIL runs the full length of the underside of the forend, so the carbine clamps straight onto an ARCA tripod head or bench rest at any point along its length - no adapter plate. M-LOK sits at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock for a bipod, a hand stop or a light. Four QD sling attachment points let the sling go where the balance actually wants it.
The rear takes any 1913-MIL-STD buttstock and the grip base is AR-pattern, so both contact points are yours to choose. Installation is a bolt-on job. The whole chassis weighs 500 g (17.6 oz) and is hard-anodised to a durable matte finish.
This is the configuration that includes the SAG K31 optics rail, which mounts on the rear sight base and gives the carbine a 1913 surface for an optic. Ordering the two together is what SAG intends for a K31 that is being brought up to modern standard in one go; the chassis on its own is the S20199.
