Overview
The RP-5 enlarges the factory bolt-carrier lever on AK-pattern carbines built on the older AK-pattern receiver, where the lever has a rounded side face that tapers towards the tip. That shape is what separates the RP-5 from the RP-1 - check your lever before ordering, because the two are not interchangeable.
It is milled from D16T aluminum and weighs 18 g, so it changes the handling without changing the balance. The knob splits into an inner part and an outer shell: the inner part goes onto the factory lever, the shell closes over it, and three screws lock the assembly. Nothing is machined or replaced. Finished in Black or Desert.

Its deeply ribbed cylindrical body slips over the standard reciprocating handle and is locked in place with three screws on the top face, giving a much larger and more positive purchase for cocking. This makes charging quicker and more comfortable during sport shooting and training - particularly when wearing gloves or working in the cold.
