Overview
Switching to polymer casting let RPT redraw the whole part. The ergonomics were reworked from scratch rather than adapted from the metal version, and the profile now flows from the handguard into a swept thumb shelf and a short vertical index. Because the colour is in the material rather than on top of it, there is no anodising or paint to wear through at the contact points - which is exactly where a hand stop wears.
The second benefit of polymer is temperature. Metal below freezing is unpleasant to hold and conducts heat straight out of the hand; the cast body does not, so working with the grip in cold weather is noticeably more comfortable. At 72 mm long and 17 to 18 g the Kronstadt adds essentially nothing to the balance of the handguard it is fitted to. Mounting is KeyMod with DIN 7991 M4x12 screws.
