The Sputnik is built for people who carry a lot and want to reach any of it in one motion. Eleven pockets are split across three zones: three external pockets closed with zips and a storm flap, a main compartment with an organiser panel and two inner pockets on the back wall for valuables, and a rear compartment with no flap for anything that has to come out fast, itself carrying two inner and two outer pockets.

The difference from the standard Sputnik is the front face: instead of a small patch square, the whole outer pocket carries a loop field, so a large patch, a name tape or an ID panel sits flat and square. Everything else is unchanged - the padded shoulder spreader and padded insert are still in the box, the strap still runs a quick-release buckle, and the shell is the same polyamide with a double polyurethane impregnation, rated at over five years with a one-year warranty.
