Overview

Like the Sturm, the Contact is a hybrid of a field jacket and a base layer, but the sleeve engineering goes further. The front half of the sleeve is raglan, which gives the most freedom of movement; the rear half is a raglan yoke, which puts an extra layer across the upper back where a pack or harness bears. Elbow darts shape the sleeve to the natural bend of the arm, so it does not bunch when you are down on your elbows.

The body knit is light, breathable and quick-drying and is meant to be worn next to the skin. Knit gussets and zip vents handle moisture on hot days. High on each sleeve is a zipped bellows pocket with a loop panel for patches; the elbow area carries a hook-and-loop pocket for a drop-in pad. Cuffs are one-piece with a hook-and-loop width tab, the central zip runs under a protective placket with a soft knit lower section, and the close-fitting stand collar - lined in soft knit - keeps debris from getting down the neck.
