Overview
Ordinary fleece is warm and completely useless in wind - the air goes straight through it. Windblock puts a membrane between the fleece layers, so the hat still breathes and still lets moisture out, but the wind stops at the surface. That single difference is what makes it work on an exposed ridge or a moving vehicle rather than only in shelter.
The cut is anatomical with an enlarged ear zone, which means it covers properly and it fits under a helmet without bunching at the temples. Seams are flat so nothing presses under a helmet band or a hood. It is graded by size rather than sold one-size, and the whole thing weighs 90 g.
