In short: the Stich Profi 18479-030 is a soft textile belt box for the PKM and PKP Pecheneg platforms, holding a 100-link belt. It replaces the issue steel box with a lighter, quieter and collapsible alternative.
Overview
The box is built in two parts: a polymer top cover that feeds the belt and locks the box to the platform, with all the load-bearing elements inside it made of metal, and a main body sewn from 1000D nylon. The body zips open along its length so a belt can be laid in rather than fed through.
Compared with the issue steel box the difference is weight, bulk and noise. Empty, the fabric body crushes flat instead of taking up its full volume, and fabric does not ring or clatter against equipment the way sheet steel does.
