Overview
The adapter exists to solve one problem: factory quick-release tabs are fixed where the maker put them, which is rarely where your hand goes. The plastic bar threads through the PAL rows and carries the release loops to a spot you can reach without looking.
Both parts are simple on purpose. There is nothing to adjust once it is woven in, nothing that can loosen under load, and no metal to rattle. It weighs 10 g, so it changes nothing about how the gear carries.
