Overview
Inside-the-waistband carry only works if the holster is thin, and that rules out moulded leather and kydex for most people. The Hummingbird is built the other way round: a neoprene body with a nylon face, so it takes up almost no room between the belt and the body, weighs next to nothing, and does not print through a shirt the way a rigid holster does.
The holster is open at the top - there is no strap or hood to clear, so the draw is one movement. Retention comes from the trouser belt pressing the holster against the body, which is why it holds securely without gripping the arm itself. The outer neoprene layer cushions and insulates, so the metal never sits directly against skin. In this version the grip is enclosed, which hides the outline further under light clothing.
