In short: the DOLG M2 is a patented DOLG design that takes what works from three-point and single-point sling systems and leaves out what does not: the platform moves between positions in one motion while the sling itself stays put on the body. It is the predecessor of the M3 universal sling, which adds two-point and biathlon carry; if you only need single-point, the M2 One is the simpler option.

Overview

The idea behind the M2 is that the sling should stay still while the platform moves. Shift from transport to patrol to ready and back with one movement, and the webbing across your body does not shift with it. In the transport position the platform sits tight against the body, which frees both hands completely, lets you wear a pack over the sling and keeps the webbing from snagging on the rest of your kit.

In the patrol position the sling takes the weight off the arms while leaving you able to bring the platform up quickly; in the ready position it releases the platform for use from any stance. An emergency release buckle is built into the line, and the attachments at both ends swap easily. DOLG give a lifetime warranty on the M2 - the webbing does not wear out and it is resistant to frost and moisture. A detailed instruction sheet ships with every unit, and the system is intuitive enough that most people have it working in minutes.
