Overview
A bare helmet shell is a smooth, regular, highly recognisable shape in a colour that rarely matches anything else you are wearing. A cover fixes both problems at once - pattern and surface - and it also protects the shell finish from the scratches that come with every vehicle, doorway and hard surface.
The front of the cover is cut with an opening for the night-vision bracket, so the cover stays on when the mount is fitted. Loop panels run along the sides, over the top and across the back, which is where patches, blood-group markings and identification panels actually need to go. The cover fits the OPS-CORE shell specifically rather than being a universal stretch cover, which is what keeps it from bunching.
